The baseline: how early at the terminal
These are sensible arrival windows at the terminal itself, measured before scheduled departure.

• Short haul flights within Europe: aim to be at the terminal about 2 hours before departure.
• Long haul intercontinental flights: aim for about 3 hours before departure.

Building in the buffer matters most for the parts you cannot control: security queues, passport checks and the walk to a distant gate.

When to add more time
Push toward the upper end, or beyond, if any of these apply.

• You are travelling during school holidays, a long weekend or a known peak.

Adding parking and the shuttle
This is the step people forget, and it is easy to plan for. Work backwards from your target terminal arrival time.

• The P12 shuttle takes about 10 minutes to reach the terminal.
• The shuttle runs non-stop, 24/7, with a dispatcher on site. Average wait before departure: about 5 minutes.
• Allow a few minutes on site to hand over keys for Standard, or to park yourself for First Class.

A safe rule of thumb: arrive at P12 about 20 to 30 minutes before you want to be standing in the terminal. That comfortably covers the drop-off, the few minutes of waiting and the 10 minute ride.

A simple worked example
Say you have a long haul flight departing at 13:00.

• Target terminal arrival: 10:00, three hours before.
• Arrive at P12: around 09:30 to 09:40.
• Hand over your car, board the shuttle a few minutes later, and reach the terminal around 10:00.
